I'm learning a lot from Mona's classes. I've learned that every day is different when I get on my yoga mat. I've learned that my body is good at some poses and not so good at others. I've learned that using props only makes my practice better. I'm learning to loosen up tense muscles and improve my flexibility. I'm learning to breathe more deeply and quiet my mind. I am thankful for Mona as I look forward to growing my daily yoga practice. - Susan P.
I come to yoga because it is a wonderful way to start the week. The stretching and breathing clears my mind and makes me feel refreshed and ready for another week. - Jane D.
Joining Life Fit Yoga was the best decision I have made in my life. Being an older adult had made me hesitant to join, but after a heart attack, I felt I needed to add to my walking and exercise. Yoga gives me a chance to learn smooth moves including breathing exercises that are soothing and relaxing. One word describes the feeling. Wonderful. - Eveylyn H.
Taking yoga classes with Mona is one of the best things I have ever done! The benefits are awareness of the body and physical well being. It has a great calming effect and is a wonderful 'stress reliever'. Everyone should take yoga! - Nancy T.
I started doing yoga after a car accident to recover from injury. However, yoga helped me not only to recover from the car accident, but also to increase my endurance to many aspects in life: To react positively in response to negative remarks. To recover emotionally from failures. To find energy when it seems that I am absolutely exhausted. Since I started doing yoga (although very short 20-25 minute sessions) almost every day, I don't catch colds during the winter. In addition, if I stop doing yoga for 3-5 days, I have aches and pain in so many parts of my body that I am surprised. How could I have lived before without yoga? Today, yoga is an important part of my life. - Dora I.
Yoga has become an integral part of my weekly routine. Why? I learned that feeling what your body is telling you makes a difference in managing physical issues. I have osteoarthritis. Yoga stretching seems to reduce stiffness and pain. An added bonus is Mona's soothing style of teaching which is truly restorative. Mona is always willing to offer recommendations and I especially enjoy her yoga focused thought for the day. Thank you Mona for body awareness! - Debbie L.
My sister talked me into coming to yoga. I was worried about coming because I figured I wouldn't be any good at it and I hate not being good at something. The surprising thing about yoga is that I am good at it. I may not be able to get to the ideal positions but I have learned to listen to my body and to take time for myself. No matter how bad the week has been, I know that I will feel refreshed and revived at the end of a yoga class. I always improve in some way and feel that I have met a new goal. I love taking class from you. Thanks. - Beth K.
When I first began Mona's Therapeutic Yoga class, I had been through several months of physical therapy. I had been having recurring lower back pain for many years. Although after my physical therapy sessions I was experiencing less back pain, I still had some. I decided that yoga might be a good self care program, and contacted Mona. After a private session I began feeling better doing yoga exercises on my own. Being Mona's class has helped me improve so much that I have been able to take ballet classes. I can do things now that I couldn't do before, and it has greatly affected my quality of life. I would recommend this class to anyone who is wishing to maintain or improve overall health and flexibility. I have also incorporated what I have learned into my position as an Assistant Wellness Director at a Senior Living Community, and hold stretch classes for seniors using yoga techniques. - Nancy P.
