This workshop is designed to deepen your understanding of yoga’s role in supporting bone density, muscular strength, and stability. Through a specific warmup, targeted asanas, mindful movement, and breathwork, you’ll learn how to adapt and enhance your practice to build resilience and prevent injuries. Perfect for practitioners of all levels, this session will empower you with techniques to cultivate a strong foundation for lifelong functional movement and overall well-being. Weight-Bearing Asanas – Poses that promote bone density, such as Warrior poses, Tree pose, and Chair pose.
Strength-Building Sequences – Targeted mini-sequences incorporating resistance (weights and resistance bands) and body weight to enhance muscular strength.
Balance-Enhancing Techniques – Drills and postures to improve stability, including one-legged poses and dynamic transitions.
Joint Stability and Mobility Work – Movements that support healthy joints and reduce the risk of falls and injuries.
Breathwork for Core Engagement – Techniques like diaphragmatic breathing to strengthen deep core muscles and enhance balance.
Modifications for Osteoporosis and Joint Sensitivities – Safe adjustments to make yoga accessible for all practitioners.
Mindfulness and Relaxation Practices – Stress-reducing techniques to support overall bone and muscle health.
Props: Please bring your yoga mat, strap, 2 blocks and blanket if you have them. Additional props will be provided and also available for purchase.
