
Great Yoga Wall Weekend Trainings
16-Hour Yoga Alliance-Approved Continuing Education
This Yoga Wall Teacher Training is for all yoga students and teachers, movement and fitness professionals. All participants will receive a certificate based on the number of hours/segments attended in person and online coursework completed.
This training will be limited to 8 students.
Each segment will:
Explore how to use concepts for training groups and/or individuals
Tailor to specific outcomes
Incorporate safety
Include inversion preparations and practices
Include restoratives
Expand on how to equate yoga wall concepts creatively when there is not access to a yoga wall.
Reading materials will be emailed to participants 2 weeks prior to each weekend's training.
Segment Schedule
Segment 1: January 28, 9 am - 12 pm
Segment 2: January 28, 2 pm - 5 pm
Segment 3: February 4, 9 am - 12 pm
Segment 4: February 4, 2 pm - 5 pm
Segments will be held in person at LifeFit Studio in Greensboro, NC
Cost
Per segment: $125
Per day: $225
Both days: $425 if paid by January 21
Refund through January 25 minus a $35 processing fee
Registration for January 28 ends on January 21, and registration for February 4 ends on January 28
Yoga Alliance CECs
Participants will have one month to complete the reading material for the additional 1-hour CEC to be added to the certificate of completion.
Certified yoga teachers may receive Yoga Alliance CECs for an additional $25 fee.
January 28, 9 am-12 pm
Segment 1: Mastering the Basics of The Great Yoga Wall™
Rope wall history, mechanics, and care will be followed by learning and then curating a Yoga Wall Warmup using the following yoga poses: Uttanasana, Adho and Urdhva Mukha Svanasana, Parivrtta Parsvakonasana, Parivrtta Trikonasana, Garudasana, Virabhadrasana I, II, III, Supta Padangusthasana and Balasana. Students will learn mechanisms and modifications of these poses to overall body movement.
January 28, 2 pm - 5 pm
Segment 2: Introduction to Slings
This segment will introduce the ideas of “Anatomy Trains” by Tom Meyers and the relationship to The Great Yoga Wall ™ as well as overall body movement.
February 4, 9 am - 12 pm
Segment 3: Introduction to Spinal Rejuvenation Series and Twists
Not all twists are for everyone, but The Great Yoga Wall ™ is designed to provide traction, thereby creating an element of safety for many twists, making this practice accessible to students who may be limited. We will practice and learn more about the benefits of traction to spinal mobility and strength.
February 4, 2 pm - 5 pm
Segment 4: Deepening the Practice
Diving deeper with explanations and modifications for the previous three segments. We will incorporate assists and target the upper and lower quadrants of the body.
