Embodiment points us toward … Love … for self and others.

Drop in for a Life Fit class and check out what we are working on in this winter session: yoga and Pilates to support functional movement and embodiment, so we can live our practice..

This new buzzword, embodiment, is not altogether new. It is a wonderful benefit of mind-body practices. Embodiment increases your connection with yourself and keeps you grounded, aware, and at ease in your own experience even when in a group class. Embodiment includes being present and aware with the sensations of the body while learning to understand and integrate what we are discovering about ourselves on a deeper level:  psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually. When we bring awareness to the information of our felt experiences, we tap in to the wisdom body. In Life Fit classes we are talking about the Kosha model, the 5 integrated layers of the body, and how embodiment helps us to use this model to navigate off the mat especially - living our yoga. As nature also guides us to turn inward at this season of the year, we are coming full circle to understand that self-care is part of this integrated lesson, and that consistency in yoga counts.

As we watch what unfolds, on the mat and together, our appreciation for each person also grows, and the Kosha model becomes superimposed as a community model too! Life Fit classes are community oriented, each person becomes important to the whole, the greatest of yoga lessons, a lesson which points us toward the importance of LOVE. Hope to see you in our Life Fit classes and offerings!

Love to you all,

Mona Flynn
